Summer heat, the practical version

Casa Grande summers are long. Plan the day around shade and indoor backups instead of trying to outlast the afternoon.

How locals actually use summer

  • Outdoor plans before 8 AM or after sunset.
  • Carry more water than you think. Desert hiking in July is a morning-only activity.
  • Casa Grande Mountain and the ruins are still worth it — just not at noon.
  • Indoor backups: library, rec center, movie theater, and Palm Island while the aquatic park is in season.
  • Monsoon storms can flood low crossings. Do not drive into standing water.
